• Bake Sale - March 26, 2009 / 9am - 5pm / Cooley Center Lobby
  
• HLLS will be having a bake sale to raise funds for a teenage Honduran refugee who is currently being detained in Texas.  He is seeking asylum on the basis of persecution in Honduras.  The youth, whose name is Elvin, witnessed his father’s murder and has become a target in Honduras.  On two separate occasions, he was able to dodge bullets aimed at him.  Now, his only hope is to obtain sufficient funds to hire an expert to testify in his case.  Unless he hires an expert, his chances of winning his case are slim and he will be deported to Honduras and face a certain death.  All proceeds will be used to hire experts.  He is currently being represented by a Cooley extern in Harlingen, Texas and is seeking the assistance of the Cooley community.  Come out, donate, and make a difference.
